DEPTH,2020

Glass is made up of two elements, transmission and reflection, which are intricately intertwined to create the property of transparency. When the front side of the glass is bright and the back side is dark, the reflected image is reflected only in the dark area. In this work, a black plate is placed on the opposite side of the glass, so that the landscape overlaid with the plate is reflected and the rest of the image is transparent.

The piece is made of thin sheets of chemically strengthened glass. This chemical strengthening process makes the glass much more resistant to breaking, so it replaces the thin, lightweight material with a motor that moves lightly.

In this work, which combines the two properties of glass, a mysterious sense of depth is created through the glass that is seen on the blackboard.
